Marissa Dunsmore

Marissa Amy Dunsmore approaches her work with a client-focused, outcome-driven perspective, emphasizing clear communication, careful analysis, and practical solutions tailored to each client’s objectives.

Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Dunsmore served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jefferey Carpenter of the North Carolina Court of Appeals, where she previously interned while in law school for both Judge Carpenter and newly-elected Judge Julee Flood. In her role as clerk, Attorney Dunsmore conducted in-depth legal research and drafted opinions on complex legal issues. Her experience refined her ability to anticipate legal challenges, think strategically, and craft precise, persuasive legal reasoning—skills she applies directly to her practice.

Attorney Dunsmore earned her Juris Doctor from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, graduating magna cum laude. While at Campbell Law, she served as a Torts teaching scholar, a research assistant, and Managing Editor of the Campbell Law Review, Volume 46. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education from East Carolina University, graduating magna cum laude, and is a former public school dance teacher. Her background in education informs her legal practice, particularly her ability to explain complex concepts clearly, remain attentive to client concerns, and approach each matter with preparation and discipline.

A southeastern North Carolina native from Leland, Attorney Dunsmore enjoys the coastal lifestyle and is an avid beach volleyball player.
