Austin Plaster brings practical maritime insight and eight years of experience in Maine’s commercial fishing and passenger vessel industries to help clients navigate complex maritime matters and achieve their objectives. Having worked as a commercial fisherman and tour boat captain, Austin offers firsthand knowledge of vessel operations and a grounded understanding of the challenges facing those who work on the water.
Austin joined the firm after graduating from the University of Maine School of Law and completing a judicial clerkship with the Region 3 District Courts of Maine. While in law school, he founded the Maritime Law Society, connecting students interested in maritime law with industry leaders throughout Maine. He also represented the Maine delegation at the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2024. At graduation, Austin received the Maritime and Oceans & Coastal Law Award in recognition of his commitment to maritime law and coastal issues.
Before attending law school, Austin earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a three-year starter on the men’s lacrosse team. He brings the discipline, teamwork, and focus developed through athletics and years on the water to his maritime practice.
