Jessica Humphries represents clients in a variety of construction law, admiralty and maritime law, and business law matters, including general civil litigation. Jessica is admitted to practice in North Carolina and South Carolina and regularly represents clients in both states.

Jessica has represented clients in personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits involving automobile, boating, trucking, and construction site accidents. Jessica has extensive experience in construction law and litigation, including representing general contractors and subcontractors in construction defect lawsuits involving the construction of single family residences, condominium complexes, mixed-use developments, bulkheads, and docks. She represents clients in construction contract disputes, payment disputes, lien claims, and bond claims. In addition, she represents contractors in matters before the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors.

Jessica provides legal advice to business on general business matters, including formation, risk assessment, contracts, negotiations, and employment matters. She has extensive experience in reviewing, preparing, and negotiating contracts for businesses.

Jessica also has experience in municipal law. Her experience includes representing municipalities and governmental entities in condemnation and inverse condemnation matters, as well as representing developers in matters involving municipalities, including variance requests, zoning disputes, and CAMA major and minor permit issuance and disputes.

Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college, she moved to Wilmington, North Carolina and worked as a paralegal for approximately three years prior to attending law school. She graduated from Campbell Law School, cum laude, with a concentration in trial and appellate advocacy. While in law school, she was selected by Campbell Law into Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, she achieved honors in Advanced Trial Advocacy, and she achieved book awards for Legal Research and Writing, Foundations of Law, Family Law, and Law Practice Management. In addition, she was a Comments Editor on the Campbell Law Review, a Student Bar Association Representative, and a Campbell Peer Mentor.

When she is not working, Jessica enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, boating, exercising, singing, reading, going to football games, and going to concerts/live music events.
